Meet Angela Lin, illustrator of her first picture book at the age of 4!
(She is also a part of the Grace family and we are SO proud of her!)
Angela Lin joined the Grace Family in September 2018 as a
3-year-old in Ms. Nicole's class. The following year, at the age of 4, her teacher, Ms. Schachtel, quickly recognized her gift for drawing, encouraging her to keep at it. Not long after the start of the school year, the world was struck by Covid 19. During lockdown, here in New York, Angela kept busy chronicling her experience through drawing and painting. The Result? A children's book!

Congratulations Tasheanna!
Grace Lutheran Church and School alumni, Tasheanna Wilson, is off to a GREAT start at LuHi! Tasheanna was chosen by her peers (class of 2024), to be the 9th Grade Class Representative every year for the next four years! Her family and Grace family are all very proud of our very own, Tasheanna Wilson. Go Tasheanna!
I can’t believe that I’m officially a college graduate. Although this isn’t the end that I nor any of my peers anticipated, I would be remiss to not celebrate and extend my congratulations to all the graduates of 2020 on the tremendous accomplishments. I am proud to say that I graduated from Brown University on May 24th with a B.A in Psychology.
I am thankful for all the lessons and memories that I experienced on that journey. My time as a student athlete has been full of even more amazing endeavors as I was surrounded by some of the most talented and inspiring
individuals. We overcame hardships and obstacles we faced whether it was related to our performance on the track or our academic performances by supporting each other.
Throughout my time at Brown, I learned the power of all voices, the value of community, and the importance
of advocacy. My experiences as an undergraduate have allowed me to better understand the inner workings of bringing about effective change within our communities. For these reasons, I am dedicated to a career in social assistance of marginalized communities. I am excited and extremely motivated for what the future holds as I will be pursuing my Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis at Pepperdine University in California, specializing in treating individuals
with developmental disabilities.

It has been both a difficult and rewarding journey to get to where I am today.
Through hard work and perseverance, I have graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Engineering in chemical engineering.
I have gained a lot from my experiences which helped set me up for a successful future. As an undergraduate at Stevens, I learned how to be independent as well as use my skills and interests to better help my community. Playing an active role in multiple professional and cultural organizations allowed me to gain knowledge and appreciation and be able to spread that to others.
I am grateful for the opportunities that were presented to me including past internships that have opened doors for me and led me to to my current position as a chemical engineer at Scientific Design in New Jersey.
Despite the current difficulties in society, I want to congratulate all the new graduates of 2020 and wish them success.

Hi, my name is Siera Myles-Smith. I attended Grace Lutheran School from Kindergarten to sixth grade and graduated as valedictorian of my class in 2019.
I currently attend LuHi and I am in seventh grade. It has been a great school year for me academically and socially because I have been on Star honor roll for all four quarters and i'm on the M.S. cheer team. I am proud to say that I am now a member of the National Junior Honor Society and I thank my family, my church and my school community for their support.

Olivia is ranked Third in her Graduating Class from Malverne High School!
She is the recipient of the ROTC- Full 4 Year Scholarship for Tuition and her Selective Service is the US Army.
Olivia will be attending Vanderbilt University ranked among the top 20 Universities in the US. She is attending the Prestigious Vanderbilt, Peabody School for Education ranked 4th in the Nation, and will be majoring in Human Organization with a minor in Economics.
A recipient of $6000.00 Merit Scholarship from Vanderbilt University, Olivia was the recipient of the Herald and Richner Publications, "Wonder Girl Award”, given to one outstanding female graduate in Nassau County. She has also received a $2500 Scholarship from LI2 Day Awarded for Academics and an essay on being the child of a Parent with Cancer.
The Malverne HS Awards will be the first week of June and she will be receiving many Awards for her Academic Excellence, Leadership and Service.

Tasheanna M Wilson an eighth grader at Luhi is graduating on May 27, 2020 @7:00 P. M. Virtually.
Tasheanna has been at LuHi for two years and has excelled in àll subjects of study during these years. She has been inducted in the National junior honor society, Star honor roll for all quarters, and has been the best of the league with a MVP status of the year for her dance team.
Congratulations Tasheanna for being a dedicated, disciplined, student who takes her academic and extra curriculum life seriously.
Congratulations to Nicole Aresta who has received her Girl Scout Gold Award this week!
She is a member of Troop number 2274. Her leaders are Dienamarie and Ms. Leanna Giaquinto, also from Grace Lutheran Church and School.
Due to the sad fact that the suicide rate among law enforcement officers was up over 24% in 2019 Nicole decided to choose to honor them for her Girl Scout Gold Award project. The Gold Award is the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts.
Her project is to help let these officers know that we the citizens of their communities support and appreciate them. The project involves taking retired flags flown over local communities and cutting the stars out to put on cards. Within the card contains a blurb she personally wrote to them to acknowledging their hard work protecting our communities and our freedom.
For this project she organized and supervised numerous Girl Scouts to help make each card customized for the officers with a written piece, and drawings to brighten their day and remind them that we’ve got their back. The card can be placed in their pocket or in their hat to remind them we are with them. A little bit can go a long way.
This is an ongoing project. She recently started a Facebook group called “Thank You.” Here is the link if anyone would like to join. She currently has over 140 members.
