Curriculum Overview

We follow a comprehensive curriculum that meets educational standards while integrating hands-on learning experiences. Our core subjects include:

• English Language Arts (ELA): Wonders Curriculum (2023)

• Mathematics: Reveal Math

• Science: Mystery Science, aligned with New York State Science Learning Standards

• Social Studies: Impact Social Studies, emphasizing history, culture, and global awareness

• Religion: Faith-based learning begins in kindergarten

• Handwriting: Cursive instruction from grades 3-6

 

Grade-Level Expectations

Each grade level has clear learning objectives that guide instruction and ensure academic growth. Students develop strong foundational skills in reading, writing, math, and problem-solving while exploring science, history, and creative expression.

 

Special Programs

We believe learning extends beyond the classroom, which is why we offer enriching extracurricular programs, including:

• Band (Grades 3-6): Students can learn instruments such as the cello, viola, violin, trumpet, clarinet, and drums.

Technology in Learning

Technology is an essential part of modern education, and we integrate it into our classrooms to enhance student engagement and learning:

• Grades 3-6: Each student is provided with a Chromebook for classwork, research, and educational programs.

• Grades K-2: Students have access to a dedicated computer lab, where they develop early technology skills in a structured environment.

• All Grades: Google accounts streamline access to educational platforms, and students engage in online assignments, research projects, and interactive learning experiences.

 

Homework & Study Resources

We encourage students to develop strong study habits through regular homework assignments and online learning platforms. Our teachers provide extra support through weekly after school extra help and additional resources, ensuring every student has the tools to succeed.

 

Assessment & Testing

Students are assessed regularly through weekly tests, class projects, and standardized assessments to track their progress. Our science curriculum integrates data analysis and hands-on experiments, aligning with state standards to prepare students for real-world applications.

 

Support Services

We recognize that every student learns differently, and we provide support to help them thrive. Our resource room teacher works with students needing additional assistance, and we offer extra help sessions for subjects like math and reading comprehension.
